Mrs. B's Peach Cheesecake Trifle
Yield: 24 servings (A light form of trifle)
- 2 pkgs (8 oz.) cream cheese
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ tsp vanilla
- ¼ tsp almond extract
- ½ pint whipping cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 angel food cake, torn into bite size pieces
- 2 quarts fresh peaches, sliced (about 8 cups)
- 3 Tbsps sugar
- 3 Tbsps almond-flavored liqueur or almond extract to taste
In large bowl, cream together cream cheese and sugar; add sour cream, vanilla and almond extract.
Set aside.
In small, deep bowl, whip the cream, vanilla and sugar.
Fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture.
Add cake pieces; set aside.
Combine peaches, sugar and almond liqueur/extract.
Layer together in large glass bowl, starting with peaches, then adding cake mixture.
Continue layering; finish with peaches.
Cover with plastic wrap; chill well.
Also delicious with strawberries or red raspberries.
