How to Freeze Peaches

Freezing Peaches

  1. To loosen skins, put peaches in wire basket and dip in boiling water ½ to 1 minute. Then dip into ice water. 
  2. Peel, pit and slice peaches
  3. Place slices in heavy, plastic freezer bag or container of your choice. Sprinkle with Fruit Fresh to prevent browning of fruit.
  4. Sugar peaches, if you desire, when you are going to use them.
  5. You can also use orange juice concentrate for a tasty treat. Put about ½ cup of concentrate per 1 quart of peaches.  When ready to use the peaches, the orange juice helps to make a tasty syrup for peach shortcake or fruit salad.
  6. Before closing freezer bag, make sure all air is removed to prevent freezer burn.
  7. Freeze immediately. Peaches will keep in freezer approximately 9 to 12 months.
