How to Freeze Peaches
Freezing Peaches
- To loosen skins, put peaches in wire basket and dip in boiling water ½ to 1 minute. Then dip into ice water.
- Peel, pit and slice peaches
- Place slices in heavy, plastic freezer bag or container of your choice. Sprinkle with Fruit Fresh to prevent browning of fruit.
- Sugar peaches, if you desire, when you are going to use them.
- You can also use orange juice concentrate for a tasty treat. Put about ½ cup of concentrate per 1 quart of peaches. When ready to use the peaches, the orange juice helps to make a tasty syrup for peach shortcake or fruit salad.
- Before closing freezer bag, make sure all air is removed to prevent freezer burn.
- Freeze immediately. Peaches will keep in freezer approximately 9 to 12 months.
